TJ is a bit disorganized (we tend to not cover the material that he has set aside for that given lecture), but his tests are open-book, open-note and extremely fair. The large majority of the class are MSAcct students and there are two group cases, as an FYI. He also takes attendance for every class.

This class is fascinating. A deep look at corporate governance and power structures and how they play out in different societal and cultural environments. Feels much more like a Liberal Arts meets Business course than an accounting course.

The class is based on the discussion of cases from 8 different countries, highlighting the differences in terms of market structure, culture, and company ownership. This differences impact the way companies do business, treat shareholders and compete in the market. The class discusses topics that I haven't seen in other Marshall classes, like family business, board of directors structures, company ownership structure and shareholders incentives. Although it is a ACCT class, it is not a traditional accounting class, the discussions are focused on strategy and incentives, and some impacts on accounting and standards, but you won't do any accounting job here.
