Professor is super cool and lectures are interesting, especially if you are interested in tech or looking to start your own business. Overall deliverables are weekly discussion posts and a group project (paper + final presentation), which shouldn't feel like too much work, but the way the professor breaks down the group project makes it overly complex and confusing - project instruction doc alone is 13 pages lol

Hovig is the man! If you are interested in setting up your own venture or just want to work on the product side of a company I highly recommend. It is a great way to get exposure to some key questions any person or company needs to consider before bringing a product to market!

I am not interested in building my own product nor going through the customer valdiation process since I'm not an entrepreneur. However, I do think the content and structure is interesting (although 3 hour night time classes are so tough to sit through)
Fall 2019 · Nikkhoo, Ivan, K. · 3 units
I'd recommend taking one Ivan Nikkhoo class at Marshall. All have the same foundational knowledge and similar speakers. This class is for someone who has a tech-ish biz idea and wants to work on crafting the slide deck, storytelling, presenting, etc. I was hoping for more information/content instead of presentations every week. I'm not starting a company right now, so it's tough to get immersed in a 'fake company'

Great class with a strong lineup of guest speakers. Would only reccomend to people who haven't taken Ivan before. There is a lot of overlap between this class and his other courses.

The professor has one deck of quotes from motivational posters and definitions for terms like "preferred stock" and "product life cycle" that you've seen 100 times from basic strategy and can easily find with a Google search. He makes no effort to teach this class. An upside -- and it's a significant upside -- is that this class has a good variety of guest speakers, who can be interesting. Even if you disagree with what the speakers say, it's cool to have a sampling of perspectives from founders, VCs, and executives.

You know how some teachers will just stand there and have the class guess the answers to their questions? It's that for 3 hours. He doesn't follow the syllabus at all so I have no idea what I am supposed to take away from this course or what I am being evaluated on.

Professor Nikhoo is a very engaging professor and makes sure everyone is on their toes while in his class as he will call on everyone. What you learn from his class is really from the guest speakers, which have been amazing so far. He is very well connected to a network of entrepreneurs and VCs. His course provides more of the practical learning rather than theory-base.
Fall 2016 · Scott Lenet, Selina Troesch · 3 units
This class is actually Great, just Scott Lenet is a complete Fraud. Selina Troesch should just teach the class full time. Calls himself a top VC, yet has not notable public exits. He also actually intervened to make sure students did not get jobs. EVERY OTHER TEACHER at USC in most cases, if a student tries hard, they help them get connections. Scott while he had a valuable class and did teach the students many things, if you were not a teachers pet, he got in the way and told prospective employers of negative experiences with the students. He is an utter fraud and should be banned from the MBA program. He still thinks Wharton is the only legit business school, and won't even give USC validation. We need people on our team, not enemies in our midst. I saw Scott directly intervene in a students chance at a great job. He's a hack and should be not brought back. I can personally think of many capable teachers that have more experience than himself in the VC space.

"The content and the process of this class is just fine, but the professor is awful. First, she know nothing about technology, but the class name is Technology Feasibility, which made people confused. It would be better if she just used Startup Feasibility or Feasibility for Startups, etc ... Second, the professor is pretty old-school and not open-minded to students. She refused to have some open discussion when we have issues and intended to figure them out. I really think this class ruined my tuition completely."

Real product development and entrepreneur class. Lots of work to do but better than theory. Also help u develop elevator pitch for your business ideas, real cold call in class, pretty useful.

"Way too much work for what it's worth. Professor is a moron, and the VCs that come and teach the class along with her are smart but provide conflicting advice. If you want to do way more work than necessary, get verbally abused every day, and get the happiness sucked out of your soul each week, then take this class."
