You have to really engage in the classroom for this one. It's really interesting material, and Jermey Dann facilitates good discussion. But he doesn't bring a ton of energy to the subject matter. The students really need to be invested in the classroom though. Aside from case reading, there is a pretty minimal workload. Incredible speakers. You read a case, and often the protagonist comes to class the next week. Most high level speakers i've seen at Marshall

The professor brings in some solid speakers from Walmart, Adobe, BMW etc. It's kind of just lecture style rather than conversational so it can feel a little dry at times. The professor has you purchase a bunch of the cases (that he's written) and will talk a lotttt about his McKinsey days. Overall I'd give it a 7/10. Good high level discussions around what is corporate entrepreneurship?, not too much homework besides lots of reading, fairly socratic style teaching.

Readings/cases have been quite interesting and relevant. The professor has a lot of experience as well as contacts and bring in very interesting guest speakers.

The content in this class is really interesting, and I think everyone should be prepared to think like an entrepreneur, even in a corporate environment. However, it's a case-based class and the professor is just really, really bad at managing the classroom environment around case discussions. Rather than encourage an actual authentic conversation, he seems to have an "answer" in mind and really refuses to incorporate any alternative viewpoints that come up in class. I'd say that he fails to create the environment of psychological safety that's required for a case-based class to be really successful.

This class is just ok, the cases we read are not bad, although we tend to focus on large companies who are not very entrepreneurial such as P&G and IBM which have really struggled in the past decade. It would be nice to focus on faster growing companies who are innovating successfully. The Professor likes to have "warm calls" where he will call you down before class starts and asks if you read the case and are prepared to talk about a certain aspect of the case.

Professor is kind of condescending and full of himself. Will bring in a high profile guest speaker and only give them like 20-30 minutes to talk. More busy work than necessary for a class of this nature. Very case-based, discussion wanders and he doesn't tie it all together that much.

Lots of papers, but really great speakers, and opportunity to directly apply lessons to your internship/prior jobs, etc.
