Class has no work. Interesting to hear Paul's perspective on various topics

Paul says some wacky things and can definitely make you uncomfortable, but there is no class that prepares you better for public speaking and to ask important questions at Marshall than this one.

By far the most beneficial course at USC. Paul doesn’t believe in taking notes or tests, but rather fostering conversations about real news and how it impacts your life, no matter what industry you want to go in.

Paul challenges you to think about things you don't typically focus on. I am no entrepreneur, but from talking to some of the guest speakers they have been so inspiring. Forces you to think about becoming more wordly aware and ready to anticipate problem solving business problems. You need to bid a lot of points for this class.

This was the best class I've ever taken. Paul was amazing and I actually learned so much about how to think and go about the world. There are some learnings from this class that I'll carry with me forever.

The course prepares you to be a better public speaker. No notes allowed and you are put on the spot to ask better questions and make better comments as course sessions progress.

Who is this class for? Students open to learning about entrepreneurship or already know they want to be an entrepreneur

Although there is not much actual work, this class can be extremely difficult for those who don't like to talk in class - it forces you to get over your fear of being cold called and having to think on the spot. So not as much academic work technically, but you have to be 1000000% on in class. Who is this class for? Someone who either wants to get over their fear of public speaking, or someone who loves public speaking and thinking on their feet, or truly just anyone in general - EVERYONE at Marshall should take this class Final Thoughts: This is by far the best course I've taken at Marshall. Paul is quirky but truly amazing and so wise and I can't believe how lucky I was to have the opportunity to share space with and learn from him.

This class will give you a very new experience.

This class is a vibe. There are no exams or even a syllabus. Each week the professor emails a ton of news articles to read and submit your questions on them. He hasn't explained the reason for it but he sits us all in a circle and there's a rapidfire round where everyone asks questions. If the Prof thinks its a good question, he'll give you a sticker. Notetaking is discouraged. But there's free food.

Taking the class with Paul is genuniely an incredible experience. Although the class itself is a bit unorthodox, you learn so much and Paul is a great professor. Plus the free dinners are great!

Less focused on entrepreneurship and more focused on current events. The class was intimate and engaging and definitely non-traditional (in a good way).

Loved this class. Paul is quite the character, you spend the first hour and a half just asking questions about the articles you read and you have to ask them in a way he likes. There are no exams. You get dinner in class and there are guest speakers. I really enjoyed this class but you have to be okay with being a little uncomfortable.

Paul is one of a kind. He is anti-education and there are a lot of WTF moments, but in the end, I think we're going to be better off having been his presense for 8 weeks. This is an easy class in terms of workload. It really is all about adjusting your mindset to think like an owner. Due to COVID-19, we are missing out on Paul's genoristy (he usually buys dinner every week and also invites the class to his home in Santa Barbara).

So this class is a little complicated. It's hard to measure without considering the professor because he didn't use a syllabus and his assignments were kinda designed as the seminar went on. He splits his classes in two: first half are going over your questions on the articles you read in advance of class (brutal), and the second half is a guest speaker entrepreneur friend of his (interesting to great depending on the speaker). So, it's a little hit or miss. Easy A and light work, but I might have gone a different route if it worked with my schedule.
