BUCO 536 - Leading with Virtual Communication

The Prof is an expert in leadership and communication. This is an easy class. You can learn a lot without much effort. The class content is interesting. However, you learn more from following the Prof's example, than from the actual class contents. There are some articles to read every week + online forum discussions.

Super heavy work load for a 1.5 credit class. We had 4-5 readings every class, an open book quiz (15-20 questions for approx. 45 mins) every class, a short assignment every class and a poll. I died! Also there wasn't anything taught by the professor per se. He would pick 2-3 topics of discussion from the readings, send us to virtual rooms with about 4 people for 20 minutes each, we would discuss, come back and share our discussion points with the entire class. That is all that we did! Would never ever recommend the professor!

Peter is really nice and enthusiastic about this class. The content is dry at times and most of the information discussed is common sense. The grading is very fair and the class does not require much work

This class is really engaging and opens your eyes to technology in the workplace and how things will change. If you plan to lead or work on virtual teams, this class covers best practices. It was a lot more work than I expected, but I got a lot of value from it. Plus you can be in your bed and PJs during class.

Interesting, short readings that were easy to complete. Frequent tests on the material so you'll need to keep up, but the tests are multiple choice and not too rigorous

Although this class is not particularly challenging, I like that we talk about something very relevant to the business world right now. Digital and virtual communications is constantly changing so it's important to stay on top of it.
