This was more of an introspective course that give students the tools to figure out what types of industry/function/company works best for the student's values and skills. And from figuring this out, how to communicate it to others (this part was lacking in the course). I found it useful to see if my career track/goal is something that fits me well.

Whether you are looking for an internship or a full-time job opportunity, this class provides insights and self-reflection exercises that help you determine what it is you are looking for in a career. Professor Snyder is incredibly genuine in wanting to see his students succeed. Workload is relatively light (a few written assignments) and are almost enjoyable because they are your own self reflections of what a right career fit looks like.

A must take! This class helps you understand yourself better. You will be much better prepared in conducting informational interviews and responding to the behavioral questions by the end of this course. I definitely think it should be a part of core curriculum since this subject area is important to all students.

This class was a perfect setup to reflect on my career goals and steps to achieve them. The workload is pretty light and is more designed to make you think about what you want to achieve. I loved the class, loved the professor, and think there's value in it for everyone.

Although the topics are cliche, it works. It gives you the time to review yourself and figure out what exactly you wanna do after MBA and why you should that. And I would strongly recommend to take the class in an earlier time. (don't take it at the last semester, too late for you to think about yourself)

This class is great if you are still struggling to find a job or still don't know what you want to do after business school. If you already have an offer, I'm not sure how effective it is since it's kind of a "soul searching" therapy session about figuring out your talents.

The activities are extremely helpful, and I still revisit them before every career conversation or interview.

Prof Snyder really cares about his students, and works to get to know you in order to better understand your goals and strengths. It's definitely a touchy-feely class, and it can seem cheesy at times, but the value is definitely there if you're willing to buy in and be honest with yourself and your classmates.

This was the best class I have taken at Marshall. I think back to what I learned in this class all the time, and will throughout my career. This class helped me define for myself what I want out of my career, and how I'm going to make that happen. It allowed me to shift my perspective on my future in a very positive way. This class should be a required course for everyone at Marshall.

Lots of Ted talks and the Anti-Patton class.
