Much more difficult than Data science class in 1st year, but really good and helpful for getting analytics approach from this class. I personally don't like R, and prefer python. But this class usually fully rely on AI to code. If you don't have coding skill, but want to know business analysis approach, this is good class. But again, this is tough class. Exam is harder than other MBA class. For product manager, this class is good to learn business analysis.

Class time is filled with a lot of commentary that is high level and somewhat abstract. Would have love lab sessions with how to use JMP every now and then.

old cases, don't think they are useful while very time consuming

Great class, very fast paced. Modeling heavy, and a great hands-on experience on JMP.

Worth taking to learn JMP and get an intro into data mining.

The professor has a very weird sense of humor. Not a huge fan of Ansari, but the course and content are great. You will learn a lot of analytics in marketing, where you can use the learning immediately in any business setting.

Perfect way to get a nugget of data knowledge for a quick understanding of JMP for non-data scientists!

There is another elective for this course which is 1.5 credits. I suggest taking that even though the 3 credit involves working on an project. The 3 credit course has fewer MBA students and the professor goes very slowly through the topics. Plus its on Saturday morning, which makes it nearly impossible to attend all the classes.

JMP is very useful especially for people who had no prior experience with data mining tools and wants to get a flavor of it. Suggest to take advanced regression first if you don't have an engineering background.

Awesome professor. He stays current with trends in big data and analytics, and is very knowledgeable in this area. He emphasizes the "business" insight to be drawn from big data, and is not just focused on "analytics". Great for those who want to learn how to build better models.

If you want to take this class, take the 1.5 unit. There's not enough material to fill a full semester and the professor is lazy. There are too many students from other USC schools in this class, which sadly bring down the quality of the class.
