Passionate professor and a very interesting course! Would be event better if it was 3.0 units

It's a short half semester class where you just get to go and talk about cool things happening in tech every week. Really loved this class and especially Daniel (Vivek is really accomplished and knowledegeable but totally sucks the air out of the room when he speaks). The assignments are extremely practical. If you're at all interested in Tech I would definitely recommend this class.

I needed a 1.5 unit class and this worked best with my schedule. Speakers were a little dry but Daniel is a nice guy. Vivek likes to hear himself talk. Good class if you're looking for a 1.5 unit class with a light workload.

Course seems to be a broad overview of digital innovation in the business world. Applicable to any field but only at a high level.
Fall 2020 · Sharma, Vivek; Macdougall, Brian · 1.5 units
The class is totally random. It has potential to be a good class. However, it is not engaging. Random topics every week. Assignments are also completely random. You can just pick any company or idea for your team project. It is an easy class.

This is one of the easy classes. Guest Lecturers come and explain the buzzwords of the industry. Can learn from people currentely working in the field. Have only one final group deliverable. Take this class if you want to learn something and need an easy grade.

One of the worst classes I've taken at Marshall. Professor only shows up on the first day and then the rest of classes are "guest lecturers" (aka employees at Professor's company) who just read off the lecture slides. Topic has a lot of potential but the way the class was structured was extremely dull. I didn't learn anything useful.

Good course to understand different technology trends and how they are shaping the world. The faculty and the guest speakers are from Disney, so good to get an external perspective.

If you are interested in tech, take this class. The class is taught by guest lecturers who are VPs at Disney innovation. Not much of a workload. Great discussions

If you are trying to get into the tech industry or are even remotely interested in tech, take this class. Vivek Sharma is an adjunct professor who is in a very senior management position at Disney. He brings in a lot of great speakers to talk about the latest tech trends such as block chain, AR/VR, smart cities, etc. Every class has 2 speakers speaking on 1 topic each. There isn't a lot of course load either so this is a perfect 1.5 credit class.

This course is highly relevant to any individual, no matter where they plan to go career-wise, as it discusses key technologies that are relevant in all industries. Plus, you get to connect with several very high-up managers at Disney Parks & Resorts.
