not difficult course if you have some knowledge about SQL. This class is connected DSO552 and we learned additional SQL query, such as with clause, subquery which are necessary to analyze the data deeply. if you don't have knowledge about SQL, recommended to start from DSO552. but it is easier than Data Science Core Class.

The class just started, but it seems like it will cover a lot of useful information. It seems like the material should be applicable to anyone that may work with databases and do some sort of business analysis using said databases. Who is this class for? Anyone hoping to learn the basics of SQL. Final Thoughts: So far so good.

Overall not a difficult course if you have solid foundations in excel. I find that the codes are logically similar to how formulas work in Excel. The lecture does go by pretty quickly but recordings are useful to do homework assignments. Who is this class for? I suggest those with business background to take this to sharpen their data analytics skills. Final Thoughts:

For a 1.5 credit class you'll get a basic understanding of SQL and what it's capable of. You'll be able to have functioning conversations with whoever the actual data analyst is but you won't get much farther than that with this class alone. Good starting course but if we're really talking bang/buck here save the tuition money and go take a groupon/watch some YouTube videos and you won't be that far behind.

Professor is great and the assignments are managable while providing good practice with the material. That said, if you just want to learn the mechanics of SQL, you can easily get the same material through a cheap/free online course. If you need credits, want to learn the basics of a very desirable skill, and don't want to stress out about effort, this is a fine class.

Pretty manageable class. You get base level introduction to SQL. Professor is always willing to help. You can review everything in class. Homeworks are challenging, but not impossible.

Robertas is an excellent teacher, really took time to explain the concepts and go over examples in class (the time spent in class is almost entirely applying new concepts and going over examples). This is my favorite class at USC so far!
