Who is this class for? I really recommend this course for those who purse relevant career path, because creating a platform is not enough, we also need to understand the background, to transform it ti a reak business or game changer. Final Thoughts: I like it, also the Prof is very supportive.
Spring 2025 · Inge, Lindholm · 3 units
Inge is a great professor and this class is for both tech and non-tech person who want to work in software industry. this class discuss about digital platform(like, Uber, Airbnb, Facebook, Web3, E-commarce, etc) and how they become dominant, and how they start their business. In addition, we learned the framework how incumbants thrive their business and how minnions(small company, start-up) tackle in their digital platform market to solve chicken-egg problem.

The class material is really actual and you will learn the strategy and the effective business model for digital stuff, which is very practical if you're interested in tech space.

Only took a couple classes in the beginning so this is not a full review, but the class is one of those strategy classes that tend to be case-based, and sweat out a lot of some frameworks to analyse markets etc.
Fall 2024 · Lindholm, Inge, Cristie · 3 units
If you actually care to learn from this class, the workload can be quite high with weekly cases and readings. You can pass this class without much effort but I found that the effort leads to a lot of interesting insights about strategy in technology. Professor Inge is passionate about the subject and makes herself very available.

Nothing groundbreaking, but it provides some frameworks/terminology to a lot of stuff you might already know/think about the internet. Professor assigns one 5-page solo paper, 2 case analysis papers, one group paper, and one group presentation. The quizzes are very easy. You don't need to keep up with all of the reading. The case discussions are just lectures. I only read the cases I signed up to do a case analysis for.

Inge is a great professor and this is an intereting class for anyone going into tech. It is a bit more dense and theoretical than her other course though. Decent amount of reading. Engaging discussion in each class.

Interesting content, and great guest speakers but the class is SO SLOW MOVING and the professor struggles to engage the class. If you're taking the evening sections of this class, bring lots of coffee.

Interesting class. We discuss very current and relevant companies (i.e. Uber, Twitch, Google) and how industries are evolving due to digital disruption. The professor is very easygoing.
