DSO 570 - The Analytics Edge: Data, Models, and Effective Decisions

Coming from a non-biz or excel background I was a little nervous about this class but Paat is the man. Honestly, one of the best teachers. I highly 3 for anyone without a strong excel background. Can't say I'm going to remember everything but I really liked it.

This is one of my all-time favorite classes. Paat is truly passionate about data analytics and designs fun simulations in class to teach us data analytics. (Not that this matters), but Paat also brings in really awesome prizes for those that are able to "win" at the challenges in class. Highly 3ed!

Great class and great professor.

Paat is very energetic and tries to make the material as fun/exciting as possible. Sometimes the material dives very deep into the theory behind it but excel skills learned are very useful.

Paat in the star of this class. He legitimately cares so much about his class and the students. He takes the time to memorize everybody's name after the first day, and he will do anything to help you learn the material. The material is pretty interesting and applicable outside of class. It is pretty technical and Excel-based. Paat understand how electives works and you will not fail this class. Just learn as much as you can and enjoy the ride!

This class provides in depth techniques for analyzing data and making business decisions. Class covers several types of regression analyses (linear, logistic, binomial). Paat goes through mechanics of building regressions in excel rather than just clicking a button which I liked. Class also covers various optimization problems in excel. Paat knows his stuff and is very enthusiastic.

This is a challenging class if you lack experience with big data. The skills learned in Excel are very useful. Prof. Paat will help you so don't be intimidated.

Probably one of the best classes at Marshall. Professor is fun and engaging, and really passionate about the subject.

Take it! Paat is the real deal. Content of the class also covers Siddarth's Demand and Sales forecasting and Spreadsheet Business Models. (Take them all for a saturated experience, but if you already good at excel just take this one)

Great Professor and interesting subject matter. Definitely go to office hours. He is happy to help every student.
