Great professor, easy group assignments (if you have someone in your group with basic python experience), no midterm, final is a group PPT presentation. Some cases are more interesting than others - the professor allows pre-class feedback if you don't want to talk in class

This professor markets this class to be for beginners with no programming experience required - this is true on paper, but it's not a great class for actually learning python. You'll be exposed to it but I still wouldn't know what to do if given an actual problem at work. The guest speakers are. great which is a plus. But the professor does a terrible job leading case discussions - it is nothing like other MBA classes so those sessions have very little value. Group homework and group project so make sure you pair with someone who knows programming. Overall, this class is a few MBA students and majority MS students and the professor really struggles to teach to the middle.

This course provides great introduction to Python. It has a good mix between quantitative and qualitative stuff. The cases are very interesting. Professor Miric is kind and always available.

In theory, a very interesting class - guest speakers and cases are interesting. If you don't know Python already, you probably won't learn it here. Professor Miric is chill (but pretty dry) and does provide his code that you can copy to complete assignments, and the class is light on deliverables, but you might struggle to apply it to anything else in the real world.

There's quite a bit of hands-on python usage. If you're not super comfortable being very uncomfotable with tech, I would stay away.

The course has multiple guest lecturers and is partly case-based and partly coding, giving exposure to some hands-on skills

The class consists of guest speakers, case discussions, and Python exercises. I have enjoyed the class, and if you definitely get more out of the class if you put more effort in when it comes to coding. The workload is minimal.

Fun class with interesting cases and compelling speakers for those interested in data science.

Milan is dedicated and the class format is divided between cases, learning python and the projects, which makes it all more fun. The cases and discussions he brings are current, unlike many of our classes. Be aware that the downside is that he is extremely unorganized so you need to constantly be on your toes for the deliveries

Milan is a fantastic person and is quite patient with folks who aren't familiar with data. The class is a great combo of guest speakers, case studies and python workshops. The assignments are python focused but are very practical. Milan does an awesome job of making his students feel comfortable with the material.

This class is what you make of it. If you really want to get into the nitty gritty details of python/data, you can. Otherwise you can learn more of a high-level/conceptual level of big data. Milan is an nice grader and makes himself very available to students when they need help.
