Very high-quality class. Very chill and knowledgable professor. Plus very high-quality guest speaker sessions.
Fall 2022 · Swartz, Mick · 3 units
The speakers are fantastic and are the real value add of this course. The class is extremely unstructured so beware of that when registering for the course. Structrue is atypical of a Marshall course, but useful for those seeking careers in Investment Managment / the Hedge Fund industry.
Fall 2022 · Swartz, Mick · 3 units
This class is basically a speaker series + a series of basic hedge fund strategies and fundamental verbiage/understanding you must have to get into the industry. Mick does a great job but the class is not going to change your life. It's a fairly basic class designed for basic understanding of the world of hedge funds. That being said, the speakers are incredible and interesting.
Fall 2016 · Swartz, Mick · 3 units
Interesting course topic on how Hedge Funds work/function, however the material is repeated many times over - even guest lecturers will present on most of the same topic. This class is an easy A, but should really be a one-off, three hour seminar. Not nearly enough new information here to warrant the $ you will spend.
Fall 2016
Disorganized professor but interesting content. Only relevant to people interested in very detailed strategies.
