This can be a useful class but its not a must. Exams are tough but course overall is not too complicated. The professor is quite hilarious and enjoyable and imparts a lot of personal experience from his law practice. Can be a good offset if you have other tough classes.

At this point in time, I don't have a strong sense that I will use much of this content, but I do think there are some lectures that will be valuable at some point in my career. Fields is a very entertaining professor, and I love the 80 minutes in his class because of his teaching style. I learn a lot about the law while doing the 5 question quizzes, and have struggled through the two midterms (like many of my peers). To do well in this class, it would require a good amount of reading and studying outside of class lectures.

A useful overview of the law and how it relates to the most common business applications (hiring, product liability, etc). Very useful particularly for people thinking about running/owning their own business. Fields is hysterical and keeps dense subject matter light and understandable.

Course can get stuck in the weeds and minutiae some times, but Fields is hysterical, and covers an important knowledge area that no other courses at Marshall touch

Great professor. It is an easy class to pass, but you actually learn really useful information about the US legal system. I highly 3 it.

Great professor and a lot of practical knowledge given in lectures.

Nice non-quant class that balanced out my quant-heavy schedule. Interesting stories and concepts, especially on contracts. Class is all lecture, and not too heavy in terms of workload. Not an essential course, but relatively fun and interesting.

Really interesting class and valuable. Fields is funny and entertaining, although sometimes based on the content the class can be dry, but it's a good class and you learn a lot. Be prepared for a lot of reading though!
