Coming from a finance background, the course may be a bit on the boring side of finance. The professor struggles to grasp the attention of the class on a near consistent basis, and the material is very dry for a course topic that could be incredibly intriguing. Rather than focusing on the application of the course concepts, the course dives very deep into the math and replicating portfolios that are rarely used in real life application. If you are incredibly into the theory behind finance this might be the course for you, but for most I think it is quite abstract and dry.

I don't know what I was thinking signing up for this class. Scott is really terrible at teaching the subject - not to mention that the class is tough. Between the two sections, I think there were 6 MBA's and the rest were master in financial engineering kids. A lot of the class is calculus based, so make sure you're ready for that challenge if you sign up.
