Great professor with plenty of real life examples that one can apply. / Great guest speakers. / Very engaging and motivating. / The professor is also really interested in students and offers time for one on one meetings to speak about career and personal projects regarding brands. / Really useful and actionable learning.

This is one of the most intense 1.5 unit classes I have taken at Marshall. The amount of reading and work that she assigned was for a 3 unit course and she crams it all into a 1.5 unit class, which really doesn't help with learning the material. I really wanted to dive deep into marketing but I would never take another class with this professor, she is a difficult grader and there is A LOT of reading, cold calling, etc. Take at your own risk!

I strongly recommend taking this class wiTh this professor, I have heard the same class with other professors is not good. Sasha provides real life examples of his consulting firm projects and a very practical approach to branding problems.

Dr. Badame brings in relevant speakers who are currently working in branding at organizations from a variety of industries. There is quite a bit of coursework involved for a half semester class and sometimes the assignments are a little unclear. However, she structures the class well and there is usually a lot of participation involved. It's a good class for anyone trying to go into brand management. She has great connections too so it'd be a good idea to get on her good side.

Easily the best marketing class I have taken thus far at USC. Prof. Strauss' presentation skills rival Patton's, and possibly exceed his. (Strauss does TED talks, which may go some way towards explaining his abilities.) And, due to the fact that he runs his own brand consultancy, he has access to a wealth of real-world case studies that you won't get access to anywhere else.

If Professor Strauss is teaching then definitely take this course. Very manageable workload, only 2 major projects and a few quizzes. Class is very entertaining and Sasha is the best. You will not want to miss a class unless you absolutely have to.

Badame has amazing guest speakers, and a similar format across her courses.

Class is too slow and easy. Not an MBA level course. Not a high ROI class. Professor is nice but he moves way too slowly. Impossible to stay focused because of this. Would NOT 3 this to anyone.

"A very holistic approach to Branding. I haven't learned a ton from the class, but it's a very easy A-/B+ and I learned something. 1 Midterm (easy) 1 Take-home assignment (short and easy) 1 Final (probably easy) I'd still 3 it for a class to take. The reader is pretty good, and the professor is a really good guy. If he can't answer a question on the spot, he makes it a point to research and come back to it the next class."

This course focuses mainly on one single approach to branding strategy, but remains interesting to learn how to create brand attachment.
