Great course.

Feels like a pointless filler class. Mische's teaching style is a mix of bravado, intimidation, and a glass-house construction of anecdotes disguised as analysis. Some of the reading is interesting, but rarely do we spend time in class digging into those points; instead, we hear fable-like stories from his consulting years which tangentially touch on the topics assigned. We spent an 80-minute class on the definition of "critical reasoning;" overall, not recommended.

Be warned--this class is a super easy B+, very hard A. He only gives out a handful of As meaning you truly can't miss more than a couple questions on exams. The class is literally only useful if you want to be a consultant. Do not take this class thinking "Oh, maybe I'll get some exposure that will help me in some other way." It won't. Mische can be entertaining and will try to sell you hard on the value of his course, but there's a difference between entertaining and actually useful.

90% of the class sessions are the professor fondly discussing his consulting experience as a partner (he has some interesting stories) and the remaining 10% is time spent discussing the cases that everyone skimmed through 5 minutes before class started. Only take this class with friends who are also recruiting for consulting because it makes it a bit more enjoyable.

Open book Quiz, Open book Midterm, Final + few group projects. Required course for the Strategy/Consulting certificate. Put Yes/No ratings because if you actually want to learn and be proud of taking a course, this is not it if it's with Mische. If you want a relatively low effort class, with some last minute cramming, then take this with Mische. He's such an interesting guy in good/bad ways, but entertaining to say the least.

Typical Mische class. You will not learn anything from him. You can learn concepts from the articles he will share.

This class is very much a forum for Mische to share anecdotes from his career as a consultant. Discussions can be interesting but don't expect to learn a ton in this course.

Professor is nice and wants students to do well. He will share stories from his past experience in consulting and from his current work. Feels less academic and more real world which is a good change of pace. Not too much work.

Not a super structured class, more of a networking hour. There are kernels of useful info, but it's a lot of consulting industry background. Also lots of HBS readings...most expensive coursepack I've every purchased at nearly $200!

I didn't learn a lot from this class. Useful for those who wants to learn basic things about the consulting industry (structure, pay, etc) but everything you learn here could probably be learned through a google search. Overall, a super fluff class that has little engagement from most students.

This is a class where you'll sit down and listen to the professor talk about his glory days for a couple hours a week. Class was super unorganized (syllabus was 3+ weeks late and we didn't even follow it) and he was super unorganized (class just covered anything he wanted to talk about that day). Probably the worst class I've ever taken.

Mische (as he refers to himself) is actually a really nice guy. He has a tendancy to be all over the place and just tell stories about his past career. Guy is an absolute legend but you don't really learn too much in this class. Mische will have many moments when you're like how was this dude a partner at KPMG and then 5 minutes later he'll do something that makes you understand why he was. The guy is a little bit crazy but if you want a chill class where you don't really have to do much this is the class for you. Just be flexible because Mische will change things all the time but it's usually for the better. If you just suck up to him and stroke his ego, it's an easy A.

Prof. Mische uses the whole class to talk about his stories, he uses the same concepts and frameworks every class. Tests are easy and the group project is poorly designed, we keep doing status reports instead of valuable work.

This class was a complete waste of time. He never discussed the readings in class. The professor is poorly-organized and appears incapable of following the syllabus. This is a complete waste of tuition and I have learned nothing.

If you're looking for a CHILL class with not much work => that's a winner. In terms of level of consulting skills you'll learn? Probably close to zero It is more an introduction to Consulting. What is Consulting? Providing a service to a client and be paid for it. Ok said in one sentence. Now chill for the rest of the semester :D

The structure of this class is a little too loose. I like Mische, and he has a lifetime of knowledge, but the class is lacking in terms of actionable content. More focused on ethics and client relationships than anything you'll be doing as a post-MBA consultant.

If you need a sleeper class, take this one. He doesn't value class participation as part of your grade so you can not show up, do the readings, and still get an okay grade. I am going into consulting and do not think any of the information he goes over is actually worthwhile. Sigh.

The entirety of this class is the professor talking about consulting. There is no need to show up to class or do the readings, however showing up to class and listening to the professor is actually quite beneficial, and especially good for MBAs looking to go into consulting.

Old guy talking about his heydays. Boasts a lot about what he has achieved which is distracting at times - Some hyperbole as well, so take it with a pinch of salt. The readings are very good and give insight into the whole consulting industry. He isn't strict about attendance or no electronics policy. Exams are MCQ which helps. Light workload. Took it as it was during internship recruiting season and can miss a few classes to prepare for interviews.
