The class session is too long and there is not enough content to adequately fill the session. The professor needs to integrate more videos, less lecture and more flexibility for arguments in cases. The guest speakers are so so. It would be nice if the materials were more recent and to have diversity in the cases.

It's a great first elective class, as it will address a lot of topics that you will see in other elective classes down the line. Violina is great, and the course discussion is always pointed and intelligent. Highly recommend!

The cases are very interesting and I have been able to speak about the class projects in interviews and they are very relevant to what is happening in business today. Rindova is a fantastic professor and I have learned a lot in this class. I would definitely recommend this course.

Professor is a leader in design thinking. Class lectures can be a bit disjointed, but resources give more concrete strategic and innovation frameworks than the core strategy class. Useful for entrepreneurs or anyone wanting to learn design thinking or how to identify and join new markets.

This is a great course if you are interested in the emerging trend around design thinking. Professor Rindova is really passionate about this space and organizes discussions around some interesting content. This is a 3 hour class, once a week, with a lot of reading - so be prepared for that. But certainly worth taking.

Design Thinking workshop was superb. Prof is accomplished but is set in stone in her ways and repeats concepts after a while to the point it gets annoying at times. A bit too theoretical and framework oriented. Class discussions are engaging. Need to read cases before every class. Cases are interesting though. So it is a bit heavy workload.

Great content, it's a hot topic right now (human centered design). However, the teacher had a bit of trouble controlling the class at times and making the content riveting. Great design workshop mid semester though.

Class discussions are disorganized and do not seem well prepared. However, the coursework is not too challenging.

I took this course as one of the electives for the Tech Commercialization certificate and I didn't want to take anymore entrepreneurship classes. Some of the content in this course overlaps other courses that had Design Thinking and Business Model Canvas, so it felt like some stuff wasn't new to me. What is different though is that the professor delivers it slightly different from other courses, but all in all, similar to many other strategy classes where it's case reading and discussion. There is some more interactivity in this class through in class activities/workshops to make it less dry and boring.

Rindova is clearly knowledgeable in industry, but not an effective teacher. She doesn't know how to lead a case discussion and sucks at responding to questions in class. Pretty useless.

Great new class. Professor Rindova is very passionate about the subject matter focused on industry disruption and design thinking. My only complaint would be the evening classes can get a little long as some classes are just two case discussions which get old in the 3 hr sessions. Still strong recommend, overall really enjoyed the course!

Lots on content on design thinking, which is the new big thing in business now, apparently. Course load is not heavy but procrastination will set you far back; join a good team or you're screwed. Guest speakers are a tad boring, but class and case discussions are fairly interesting. She's brilliant. Really insightful.

Good variety of topics. Learned about design thinking, how to think about new business models, industry disruption. She brought in speakers to talk about some of the topics

I loved the design thinking aspect of this class. However, the teacher doesn't seem to understand that Master's students are fundamentally different than undergraduate students, and therefore have multiple responsiilities at once. When told I would be skipping to class to attend a networking event it was meant with a lot of attitude and resistance. There is also a ton of cases, it is hard to spend 3 hours talking about cases. The design thinking module was great because it was very engaging (but interestingly enough, she was not the one teaching that class).
