It's very effective. Read the material every day and participate. You will do great. It's such a good course and Kyle puts a lot of thought into it. It is not too hard too just smart work, not hard work. The paper and doing it with a team is one of my favorite things I have done this semester or year as a class project.

The professor is great and the class very super interactive. But unfortunately there very few takeaways / learnings from this course. You will enjoy the course, but on restrospection you would not be able to state any major learnings given the number of cases we go through.

Professor is engaging. Course gets very repetitive after a few case studies.

Kyle's class is very interactive and requires student participation. The cases are across pop media, telecommunications, travel etc so there is something for everyone. You get a chance to be a teacher for the class and lead a case discussion yourself - this was my favourite part.

This is a hybrid course so you have the option to Zoom into the class. Usually half of the class ends up Zooming in which makes it a bit awkward for them to participate. Every class is a different case. The group assignment is to create a case on an alliance/acquisition and lead a class discussion. These can be hit or miss. Kyle Mayer is a really great guy and very knowledgeable in the content. Personally, I wish he lectured more and offered some sort of framework to ground the case discussions.

Take this class with Kyle Mayer if possible. Useful regardless of career choice. Good way to think about business relationships at the corporate level.

Kyle Mayer makes the course engaging and is helpful in outlining tangible takeaways from cases. Coursework includes reading the cases before discussions, studying for midterm and final, and writing a case as a group project.

This class is very interactive and closely connected to our everyday lives. You often see brands collaborate and launch new products or services that either raise a lot of questions or create strong appeal that didn’t exist before. This course helps you think more strategically about mergers and acquisitions around you, whether in the past, present, or future. The professor leads the class in a way that’s easy to follow, so anyone can participate and share their thoughts. Even just listening to the discussions, you leave with new insights and real-world examples of mergers and acquisitions you may not have considered before.

This course thus far is completely case based and thus has a lot of reading. So some areas are hard to gauge/ subjective Who is this class for? Most useful for consulting and finance Final Thoughts: This has been my favorite course in this MBA program. Its all reading, discussion and critical thinking. The professor poses many questions and forces us to think strategically

Easy, just readings and class discussions with minimal amount of group work. Hybrid, so many people tuned in via zoom. Who is this class for? People interested in M&A and strategy Final Thoughts: I enjoyed this class, but is easy to tune out and skate by. Definitely not challenging.

You have to lead a case discussion with your group which makes up most of your grade. Who is this class for? If you enjoy case discussions, pre-reading or atleast skimming the cases and participating/actively listening. It teaches you a lot about diverse industries and their alliance design! Final Thoughts:

Overall, course is case-based and not too many graded assignments throughout the course of the semester, so unsure about how grading is. Who is this class for? Those interested in partnerships and/or company synergies. Final Thoughts: Some cases are more interesting than others, but if you are someone who dislikes reading cases before each class and then talking about them, this might not be for you.

The amount of assignment to turn in is light and approachable. No grades have been released yet so nothing can be said on the toughness of grading. Who is this class for? Any student looking to understand how organizations can work together to achieve goals. Applicable to all industries. Final Thoughts: Professor Mayer is an excellent moderator of discussions and is extremely knowledgeable. The class is worth it alone to learn from him.

Kyle is a great professor. He works hard to make the class engaging and the material is overall interesting asides from a few less interesting cases. The case-based method can be a daunting class approach and can be a slow way of learning, but he does his best to make it accessible, especially as students are eventually intended to lead a case as their main group assignment. Be prepared for a Friday session of courses sometime during the semester that will replace a few normal classes to accomodate speakers.

Class can be as engaging or unegaging as you make it -- entirely case based and the work is participating. 3 assignments (2 short written papers and 1 group case that you then present on). Kyle has good insights.

This class is easy; no midterm, two papers and one final paper (total of 3), and one group case presentation. This professor is full of himself and loves to hear himself talk - you are not learning any new material in class, it is just the same basic framework repeated every time. BUT if you want a low lift course this is for you

Easy Class and kind of informative - good to take for light class
