I'm a huge Mayer fan, so I loved it. Great discussion and really cool cases about an essential topic.

Fantastic class and professor. Learnt a lot in this class! Only con is that there are cases and readings for almost every class (not something you want in Sem 4).

Mayer is an engaging lecturer but most of the cases are tech related and it gets redundant. Student teams write cases and lead a discussion about it for ~1 hr. Its definitely one of the better classes here.

Fairly interesting class as long as you do the reading. It's almost all participation so the workload is pretty low. Mayer talks really fast but he's a nice guy and the cases are pretty interesting.

"I would take anything with Mayer. In a full term class, he is must less intense than he is in core. Class is based on reading and participation. Very engaged classmates, fun environment, and intellectually stimulating."

So so class. Easy workload. Great 2nd semester 2nd year class. Cases are cool, so if you dedicate yourself to the class the potential for growth is high. But like any strategy class, the material is really subjective, so be ready for that.

"Kyle Mayer knows his stuff, and he does great work in putting this class together. Each lecture is interesting, and the way he structures the class and assignments is fair. He's great, take this class. Readings are interesting on the whole and he keeps the lecture lively."

"Class would be good in theory; goes over corporate partnerships, as opposed to M&A. The class, however, is organized poorly. Professor spends way too long on case discussions, focusing too much on case-specific details. Lecture slides are saved for the last 5 - 10 minutes of class...extremely frustrating! The course goes over the same few points over and over; essentially keep each others' interests in mind and don't let people stab you in the back. A very easy class, but not as much learning as I would've hoped for."

This class is valuable for strategic decision making, and understanding the logic (incentives) that come into play as a business leader attempting to structure deals and alliances with other businesses.
