Jeff is a nice guy who actually does have some real experience, but he has the capacity to get very sidetracked, often on something completely unrelated to the proposed topics at hand. He does attempt to keep the structure of the course organized with weekly outlines which cover some high level things that he lists down teh definitions and explanations of. Again, if you have no experience and are looking for a taste, this could be useful, but for anyone who knows more than nothing about film, this is probably not a great use of resources.

Look, this is a lecture class. He's gonna tell you stories for three hours every week. Its entertaining at times, mind numbing at others. Having a background in entertianment, there wasn't a TON of new material for me - but if you're trying to satisfy the Ent Biz certificate, this class isn't a ton of work, nor is it very difficult, and you'll get some anecdotes, for whatever that's worth.

This class is very helpful, giving a broad overview of entertainment. I wouldn't suggest it for folks who've worked in the industry, but for people who are trying to break into entertainment, it's a class worth your time. The professor rambles and mainly focuses teaching around what will be on the midterm and exam, which feels transactional.

The class has a great potential of teaching students about the business of entertainment. However, the professor sticks to the habit of reading definitions of various terms from his notes rather thsn tapping into his experience in the industry and engaging the students with the subject matter in a more organic and informative way. If interested in film classes- take a different one.

Great information on film financing and how movies are packaged.
