Prof Fox is a fantastic speaker. I would recommend his class anyday. However, this class sometimes feels a little bit stretched. Some cases are really helpful

Really nice case-based discussions, Dr. Glenn Fox is an amazing facilitator
Spring 2026 · Fox, Glenn · 3 units
Pretty easy course, mostly case readings and polls once or twice a week. Class discussions are very casual and professor Fox is very nice/approachable. Nothing super revelatory in the course material or cases and if you are familiar with entrepreneurship or VC, it'll be a refresher. But it's an enjoyable, low-key, low-pressure class.

Discussion / Case Study based class about many of the tricky situations that entrepreneurs find themselves in. Prof Fox is an excellent discussion facilitator who brings his unique perspective (background in Neuroscience) to many of the sessions. Can sometimes feel a bit simplistic but the vibes are high and the discussions can be engaging.
Spring 2025 · Tchalian, Hovig · 3 units
Hovig assigns polls as the homework component on all of his cases. Each poll has a reflection element, or several, and they can be graded rather harshly if your answers aren't robust enough. It's cause a bit of confusion and annoyance in the class. However, I think that the class itself is solid with lots of food for thought and a holistic approach to how people decide to take risks, how their decisions affect others, where pitfalls are, etc. Who is this class for? Folks interested in entrepreneurship and understanding the entrepreneurial mindset. Final Thoughts: I think that the case polls should be more leniently graded. It's a lot of work on top of an already robust student workload.

Who is this class for? If you are interested in pursuing entrepreneurship or would like to work at an early-stage startup, then this course is an absolute must. Final Thoughts: This is one of the best courses I've taken. Professor Glenn is an entrepreneur and angel investor, and the class is case-heavy, which makes it really engaging. We do polls before most classes, and the material is hands-on. I've learned a lot, especially about the 'founder's dilemma'—balancing vision with practicality, knowing when to pivot, and avoiding common startup mistakes. Sometimes, the professor invites founders to share their real-world experiences, which is super insightful.

Cases to be read and polls filled before each class. Not a lot of group work, just some role play exercises now and then. Grading was tough, specially for module memos as the professor requires us to clearly utilise the concepts taught in class, and use examples from our professional experience. Who is this class for? anyone interested in starting their own company should take this class. The cases cover a wide variety of issues that founders can face. The guest speakers are also incredibly helpful and give very candid answers. Final Thoughts: I liked the course and would highly recommend it.

This class is basicallly case based course and the case that discussed in this class is very interesting. There is a poll to fill by the student before the class in almost every class session, but this is easy. It force the student to read and understand the case before discuss in the class and the cases is very insightful. The professor also invites the real entrepreneur to the class to share their valuable experiences. Who is this class for? This class is for student who interested in entrepreneurship Final Thoughts: This is the best class I have joined so far

This is the best class I had!
Fall 2025 · Quinn, Audra, Grace · 3 units
This is an interesting class, because you learn about startups and everything that can go wrong with founders, equity splits, legal liabilities,... It gets pretty repetitive, though, after the 5th week. There's also a case to read each class and a quiz to fill out the night before. I would recommend if you are interested in entrepreneurship.

Not too intense or difficult, just very case heavy. Attendance and participation are key, but assignments are not too tedious.

Chill class. Professor is super nice. Polls due 10pm the night before. If you are looking to potentially start a business, 100% recommend.

Almost entirely case based. The professor is pretty nice and does well to discuss complex topics in a straightforward manner. However, after a point the class can be a bit monotonous. Fairly simple deliverables. No more than two polls per week. Exams are mostly based on the learnings of the cases and your opinion on the them.

There are 4 main models through this class. As a founder, you can learn a lot of useful experience in different stages. The professor is nice and easy going, will not cold call you suddendly. Except the regular case study , we have several role plays and lectures. The homework load is fair, you just need to finish the case poll before class.

Cased based, rather easy going class. There are 4big journals and small polls before each class. You can learn about the issues the founders will face and profeesor Fox provides a good environment where everyone can participate in the open discussion.

Interesting content, and Tchalian is a very good lecturer and discussion leader (and much of the class is discussion). There is nothing particularly difficult about this class, but it is a solid way to spend 160 minutes a week when you're on campus.

This class is a must for every MBA student. It exposes dilemmas faced by founders and help you learn (founder/not) important issues that an entrepreneur should be aware of. Even if you plan to work in a start up environment, its great for you. One of my best classes at Marshall and the workload is really really light
