Definately a hard class especially if you struggle with Finance classes, but Prof Scott goes a long way to help you feel confortable with the content. Can get confusing for a bit with so many concepts being thrown at you, but you would feel very comfortable if you solve recommeneded practice questions. A lot of hard work, but worth the effort. Took it mostly to learn about personel investing and feel a little more comfortable after this class

Professor Abrams really cares about his students and wants to see us succeed. While the material at times may be challenging for those without much financial background, he makes it easy to understand and want to learn. I am not pursuing a finance career but I have enjoyed this class and learned a lot.

Hard class for those who don't have a finance background, but I'd recommend if you like a challenge and liked corporate finance.

I never considered myself a finance person, and this has truly been my favorite class I've taken at Marshall. The material is challenging, but totally doable if you study and come to class. Abrams sets his students up for success. He is a fantastic professor and he makes me want to take more finance classes

it's a good review of the valuations basics and relates directly with my post-MBA role. It pairs well with the M&A elective.

Coming from a pure tech background, I had no idea about Finance in general. I chose this course as I really wanted to understand what happens in the finance world, and I believed that Scott would definitely help me learn a lot. Yes, some concepts were a repetition from core Corporate Finance, but it helped me brush things up again in detail and get a hold of the subject. If you are looking for a finance related career or if you are someone like me trying to get a better hold of Finance, I highly recommend this class. He talks too fast though, so make sure you pay attention and take notes every single time possible. We had about 4-5 case studies, mid-term and final.
