Interesting - you learn and apply different consumer research tools such as focus groups, individual interviews, ethnography, etc.

One of the better classes at Marshall. Rook is the man, kinda crazy, but a great teacher.

Relatively light course load and a relaxed professor. This is a good course if you already have a heavy schedule and enjoy psychology.

Rook is a funny guy but the class isn't exactly organized. Not sure what we are learning a lot of the time but it is still fun. Not a high intensity class so if you are looking to stretch your learning, this isnt the class for you

Rook is so good but so early 2000s. He is a witty guy and he is interesting for couple weeks, then it feels like a repeat. Content is bit dated for a rapidly changing field. If you took it end of 90s, early 2000s that would have been the bomb. Easy class with some annoying deliverables. Overall if you are interested in marketing I would 3 taking a single Rook class. Not more than that.

Great topic that should be taught by a different lecturer. So much wasted time - could have been a half course easily. Very little practical skills learned and while it is a great topic, it should be restructured to be more effective.

Rook is hilarious

Prof Rook may not know what Boba is and has never heard of Emojis, but he's a good marketer and a professor who cares. He's class can be slightly dated, but you will learn about consumer behavior, focus groups, and other qualitative research methods. You won't have to work too hard and class is pretty enjoyable. Not a class that will blow you away, but not a bad option either.

This class could have been good, but the professor is perhaps past his prime. Classes are unstructured, the slides are old and outdated, and I am supposed to be learning how to conduct focus groups but I am 2 months in and what have I really learned?? I think most of my classmates would agree.
