Great class to pair with MLFP given the 1.5 credit requirement. Professor Snyder does an excellent job of facilitating relevant discussions during class. He's also genuinely invested in the success of his students. The three paper assignments are useful for long-term career planning and reflecting on career aspirations. Like others have mentioned, you get out of this class what you put into it. Worthwhile for those who will take it seriously!

You will get out of this class what you put in. If you are even a little bit doubtful or unsure of your career path then this is worth taking. Professor Snyder really cares about his students and the class discussions are very open and supportive and assignments are not a big lift.

This course serves as a good second class along with MLFP. I was surprised at the level of introspection and analysis we did on our own career paths and what mattered most to us through this class. Classes are heavily discussion based and paper-heavy. It is definitely a class where you get out what you put into it, and so experiences may vary. However, this is a fantastic class to take to learn more about yourself, what makes you tick, and how you can communicate your value to future employers.

This is an excellent class to take for those who are still working toward figuring out their career path. As someone who wasn't entirely sure what mine would look like, thinking critically about my skills, where I wanted to be in 5 years, and what I enjoyed doing was so valuable. This class gave me a chance to think big and I appreciated the opportunity to do that. Overall, if you complete the work assigned, it's a relatively easy class too.

I took this course as a supplement to MLFP. I wasn't expecting much. But the final product we did was create a 5 year plan with bi-annual goals on how we are going to get where we want to go in 5 years. I loved this project and I found it really benefical. Professor Snyder also helped me think of the big picture for my life and career. In this program, sometimes we get bogged down and forget to actaully examine if the path we are on is the right one for us. I am apprciative that this course allowed me the time to do that.

This class is an excellent follow-up to his Defining Your Professional Value course from Term 1. The value from this class comes from the self-reflection. Light on assignments.

I agree with the statments made above. This course helped me to prep for my job interviews and the professor is super helpful as well. Its a must take class specially if your recruiting as the course helps to bring out the really reasons of why you want to work for particular company/role- helpful for job interviews

This class should be a required course. The Term 1 class does not do justice, and if you really invest in yourself it is a really rewarding class to think abou your future and what you really want post grad. Highly advise people to take this course

The class is valuable only if you take the time to be introspective and improve yourself. Prof. Snyder creates a dedicated space and framework for reflection. I would recommend even to people who have decided on a career path; you just don't know if your motivations are the right ones until you examine them.

Professor is genuinely trying to be helpful, and the deliverables force you to be thoughtful about what you want to do and value. There are alternatives to get this, but you get a tool to figure out what you care about and how to construct a concrete plan to get there.

People see this as a very fluffy class, but I think it's essential to step back and look at the bigger picture. The professor genuinely cares about you and your career path, even if he is a little old fashioned.

I really loved this class. It's very easy but a great way to reflect, think about your goals, AND build an action plan for how to get there. Kirk is also great and very supportive. He's one of the only ones in the program encouraging us to really pursue what we want to and not settle.

"Awesome class that is based on a lot of introspection/self-reflection. A lot of the work you'll do in class can be re-used in future interviews, so it's time well invested. Most of the classes are discussion based. Professor Snyder is a really sweet man that truly cares about his students. He proves it with how he gets to know you and help you with your career journey."

Every MBA student should be required to take this class. It is what you make of it, so be open-minded because it is a lot of reflection about yourself. He asked the right questions, shared insightful talks and videos all of which helped me understand myself better, and understand my best career fit. Now, I feel confident about my career choice and direction. Many students had light bulb moments that resulted in pivotal decisions in their career and life. Best decision ever. ALSO, the earlier you take it, the better. You don't have much time to course correct if you take this last semester of 2nd year. Take it first year Spring or second year Fall.
