Even though exercises are simple, the topics covered in this class are relevant to the industry and give you strong frameworks that you can apply in your working life. You work with: - MS Project - Excel Solver and Crystal Ball Also, you are exposed to a simulation game exercise and have to read the critical chain book which is relevant and provides a good learning experience. The professor is well organized and has a clear structure for the course with very useful reminders of the weekly schedule on Sundays.

Murat is a fun professor. He is very tech-savvy compared to other professors. He sends weekly updates on Sundays, which helps stay updated. Homework assignments are not too complicated. We use MS Project, Crystal Ball and Excel. The course would help those who want to get PMP. Cases are pretty old and most of them are about the air industry (Boeing, Airbus, Dallas Airport).

This class is paced really well and will give you technical skills that are practical in any kind of project management. The professor also brings cookies to class :)

I had high hopes for this class, but have been disappointed with the teacher and content. The content is focused on manual calculations when we have Excel and tools to spit numbers. This has taken away from the important concepts that could be covered about the life of a program/project manager in current scenarios. Bring in someone from Amazon or Starbucks (plenty of alumni) who are living the life of a project manager. Instead we have a guest speaker who teaches us that doing one thing at once is more effective than multitasking (common sense). The teacher tries to be your friend then throws a 16-page midterm at you asking you to remember conversations from guest speakers that isn't needed for becoming a strong project manager. Old school teaching in which memorization and silly computations are more important than what we will encounter in our jobs immediately after school. The ONLY positive thing is I'm getting an introduction to MS Project, which could have happened in a IT tutorial unfortunately.

Hands down one of the best professors on campus. He's extremely nice, brings in cookies for class, and genuinely does a good job teaching. His exams are all very fair, and even though the class has many assignments, they usually take 15-25 minutes at most. Highly recommend this class for people that don't know much about project management - i learned a lot!

I gained exposure to Oracle Crystal Ball and MS Project in this course which may be helpful for me in the future and for anyone in any field. I wish the course dived into the conceptual theories to ground understanding but I can definitely see the real world application of the class.

I am taking the online version of this course, but it is still run effectively. The professor provides a ton of materials for you to study before getting onto the WebEx lecture. You have to make sure to watch the online material and lectures prior to going into the WebEx discussion. He does a great job at making an online course engaging.

One of the best classes at Marshall with one of the top professors. He's super knowledgeable, funny, and makes the class really interesting for an operations class. The subject can be boring and a little dense, but he goes really slowly to make sure that you understand it.

Bayiz loves what he does and is super sweet about it. Guest speakers are pretty boring, but there aren't a ton of them. Some useful Excel stuff, and a good intro to Microsoft Project.

Prof Bayiz is the funniest! There's quite a bit of Guest Speakers but class goes by pretty fast! Very practical!
