Not an easy class, but very relevant. The professor has a very unique style. Some really like it, some really don't. He has a good sense of humor, but he is sometimes a bit hard to follow. The material is very data heavy with a bunch of scary formulas... but we'll see how the final will go...

Entertaining professor that takes his time to explain data analysis concepts, ensuring that everyone understands it. It's a good intro to applications of marketing data analysis.

It's a bit hard to keep up with this class. Siddarth goes really fast and rambles sometimes, and if you miss the very important key points that he will pepper into a lecture then you can get lost. Assignments are tough. He spends a lot of time on the derivations/theory of the models we use, which doesn't personally help me, but the modeling that is done is important and useful.

Teacher is interesting and you actually learn hard skills in a marketing class. Could be taught at a faster pace with more in-class examples, but for the most part I definitely recommend taking this class.

Although it is a bit difficult to follow, the class is very relevant and would be beneficial for those going into marketing functions that have a data focus. He speaks a bit quickly so it can be challenging to understand but the applications of the lessons learned is very useful. There isn't too much coursework and it is mostly group projects. I'd recommend some self-study alongside the lectures and assignments. Good class for those who are not too familiar with analyzing data and need some prep especially before an internship or starting work.

Extremely valuable class. I really wish it had been offered in my 1st year as I had to execute on many of the topics he teaches with zero training.

Must take irrespective of your function of interest. Prof.Siddarth is an experience you shouldn't miss. Best prof of my MBA experience hands-down. I wish he teaches more classes or Marketing in core in the future.

Kind of confusing and he's a tough grader but the content is needed for CPG marketing.

This should've been the content taught in core Marketing class. You'll actually learn more than Marketing jargon. You can expect to learn how to perform basic marketing analysis. The Professor has a great personality and delivers the occasional zinger if you're not paying attention. However, his pace will be slow for most. Every lecture, there's a workshop element as the professor believes the only way to learn is to "do."

The class is pretty tough but it's graded on a massive curve. There's a few group honeworks that I thought he made harder than they needed to be. The professor is a little dry with his humor but at the end of the day he's a nice guy. I didn't finish 2 of the questions on the final and I got an A in the class.

Course is great for helping understand the high level strategy behind forecasting models. It's a solid link between spreadsheet models and brand strategy. It is a tough class and can dominate your time. Siddarth is tough as he has high expectations for his students. I liked the fact that he didn't handhold but others did not.

By far the most overrated course at USC. Awesome, amazing, hilarious professor but the material is painfully drab and though the concepts are relevant, so are most other course's. This professor would be effective teaching the concepts behind the varying speeds and conditions under which paint dries; he's great but perhaps the course isn't worth it. You'll learn stuff in this class for sure but don't waste every single point you have on it.

Siddarth is a great professor - very engaging and demanding. I am on the fence about the actual class. I am learning a lot in both conceptual understanding of marketing analytics/research and excel, but feel that there is too much material covered and the concepts do not necessarily build one after the other. Feels like we barely learn one model and then we move onto the next. We learned and modeled CLTV, price/promotion response with scanner data, conjoint analysis. Lots of group homework. 100% on excel.

Great class, great professor. There's quite a bit of group work involved, but that really helps with understanding the concepts/models learned in class. From what I can tell, these models seem to be very applicable in the real world.

Siddarth is wildly amusing and cares deeply about student learning. There is minimal reading, 3 group homeworks, one individual homework, and one big group project. He is teaching intricate stuff since each class is a new excel model - and most people never bother to practice again after class - which means the final will be HARD. The material in each class is manageable and understandable, but you have to show up, pay attention, and be prepared to study hard for the final. I highly 3 Siddarth and his class, but it's no walk in the park.
