It has moderate-high workload but is essential if you want to learn more about customer segmentation, targetted campaigns, etc.

Anthony is a great person and incredibly caring. For me, it is slightly hard to stay engaged in class, but the content is very useful for marketing careers.

Heavy homeworks, not even match the course content. Almost no hand on practice for those useful marketing analytics tool, such as A/B test. You just learn very basic concept in class, and then being asked to complete advanced lever assignment
Fall 2025 · Dukes, Anthony · 3 units
This class is very well structured and provides valuable insights into marketing analytics. However, having a solid background in Marketing and Data Science is highly recommended before taking it. The course is quite intensive, with numerous hands-on exercises using software tools, which makes the learning experience both practical and engaging. The assignment workload is moderate, while the exams range from medium to difficult. The professor is fair and consistent in grading.

Do NOT take this class if it is with David Prosperio! Very nice guy but doesn’t know how to teach. I had to figure everything out myself through ChatGPT - all the homework is coding based. You’re not going to learn any useful skills here.
Fall 2025 · Schorr, Dennis · 3 units
Class sounds like it would be useful gaining insights on the strategic decision making process from a marketing perspective. Schorr's class was a waste of time and has you doing things like a 6 hour Google search certificate you'll never use and is free to the public.

In class learning is going through powerpoint slides which feels like not a good way to learn analytics (would be more useful to go through the tools/platforms while in class). Also most of the assignments which are due are not listed on the syllabus and you have 24 hrs to complete it from when she announces it in class, so it's easy to miss things as they are not communicated via email/documents but rather her mentioning it in class.

Less engaging content, less practical teaching, and loads of work! Not recommended!

Took this class because I thought we'd learn Tableau but all we got was a precording and one assignment. Very theoretical with little/no hands on practice of using the various analytical tools. In class exercises are actually just assignments in addition to the homework she gives you all of which are very difficult if you have no analytics background.

Boring but a lot of homework about data analytics, 3 presentations included; I feel like the professor didn't want to teach at all

I had too much expectations from this class but this turned out to be more work and less learning for me. Professor covers theorotical aspects of many taechnologies such as AB test, regression etc but does not give hands on experience of how to perform these methodologies. You will be grouped with random people who may or may not know these methods and then you will expected to work on assignments using these methodologies. Class tone is very monotonous, students are busy doing their extra work on laptop, and professor does not try to engage the class. Tableau was highly marketed in this class curriculum but professor just shared a pre-recording video covering only the basics of the tool which is not enough. Also, she uses Excel for K means clustering which in my view is very outdated way of data maniuplation.

Too much homework but professor is great and useful class to learn marketing analytics. You'll get Google Analytics Certificate and learn Tableau.

Boring, several demanding homeworks that are not aligned with what was covered in the class. At the beggining we learnt Tableau and there were a couple of very useful workshops, but it ended very soon.

This course is a joke - only take if you have no other choice. The hyper focus on housekeeping items in every single class makes it feel like an infantalizing, kindergarten course. Content is alright - but nothing you haven't already covered in the core Data Science class.

This professor doesn't believe in exams which is great, but highly over complicates all the homework and likes to add more than what is listed in the syllabus. All that being said, I do find this material extremely useful and applicable to the real world. Just be preapred for hands on busy work and a group project. If you do not know programming be sure you have at least on person on your team who does! Professor says it's not required for the project but it definitely is (plus a lot of MS students in this class so the MBAs are left out a bit).

Homework and in-class teaching are not aligned where teaching seems to be too shallow compared to the complexity of the homework. With that said, the prof is very structured and planned with the curriculum but I would not recommend this to MBAs as the class may be more suited for masters.

Homeworks require you to practice data analysis/data viz skills. You'll learn to use Tableau and Google Analytics through this course. However, the lectures are really dry. Worth taking this class if you're looking for something pretty chill that will give you a couple of things you can add to your resume, this class is good. But it can feel like a waste of time.

Class is really high level and the instruction is fairly disconnected from practical application. You get veeery little useful instruction in Excel/Tableau/R - and would definitely learn a lot more independently. Better than the marketing core class, but still a waste of time.

The class includes many useful knowledges to know including Tableau, Excel, and Google Analytics. The lecture materials are pretty hands on. The professor will share many useful techniques that are used in real-life marketing analytics, however, some of them are just briefly touched apon. This is a great course if you want practical knoledge about the topic, this is a great class for you.

Very structured class and one of the most organized class / resource heavy class that I have taken. You are actually getting to do work in on Tableau / R verses talking theoretically about things. Very hands on class and the professor has the experience to back it up and help guide you over your project. There are however quite a few deliverables from small assignments, class discussion boards, small individual presentation and large group project.
